I came back because BD in his glowing opinion piece had a dig about the conical pits as if whoever suggested that concept was stupid because the pits won't be conical. Of course they won't necessarily be conical. That cost model (calculation) I suggest was to allow a simple calculation of the MINIMUM amount of stripping needed to reach first ore, as using a cone is sensible for that minimisation and a pit slope of 45 degrees is also another sensible assumption for that calculation. Not stupid at all. I added something tangible to the discussion on the forum that allowed other posters to calculate some basic minimum costs. If BD hadn't tried to belittle my previous informative posts in that way I wouldn't have responded. That poster then tried to belittle my knowledge of the law in a following post without knowing anything about my history with JV' law, the Mining Act in WA or anything else. That was a pure flame that should have been moderated but wasn't. If people would let sleeping dogs lie I'd only post when I see something of interest to talk about. The childishness on HC is getting out of control IMO. Esh
