Supervisor / Rig Manager

We are a Specialist Engineering, Construction and Drilling service provider to the energy, mining and infrastructure sectors. In each market, our multi-disciplined teams have earned a reputation for innovative solutions and reliable project delivery.
Lucas has a fantastic opportunity for a motivated Supervisor / Rig Manager experienced in large diameter drilling with an emphasis on gas drainage and/or with an exploration background.
The Role:

• Provide effective Safety Leadership and demonstrate a commitment to a continued improvement in safety performance.
• Ensure the effective identification and management of risk on the Project.
• Organise and supervise all drilling and well control operations.
• Supervise rig movements
• Work closely with Training to ensure all personnel are trained and competent in the effective application of the HSE processes and procedures.
• Ensure the project execution is accurate, effective and regularly reviewed
• Assist with rig operations and technical support as required and ensure cost efficiency and profitability
• Understand stakeholder needs and managing expectations
• Create and maintain strong relationships with relevant clients and other key stakeholders
• Provide input around project reporting
• Represent the business with onsite contract negotiations

Candidate Requirements:

• Cert IV Drilling Operations and/or Diploma of Drilling Oil & Gas (Required)
• Demonstrated previous experience in a  Drilling Supervisor / Rig Manager role (Required)
• Demonstrated experience managing an exploration / large diameter rig (Required)
• Standard 11 (Required)
• S1, S2, S3 (Required)
• G2 (RIIRIS402) (Preferred)
• HC/MC Drivers Licence (Preferred)
• RIIVEH (Vehicle competencies preferred)
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Demonstrates a high level of Safety, Health and Environmental awareness
