Thank you for letting us know about the new brand that Home Depot had started stocking in the push to connect fittings segment.

There are quite a few of these brands/homebrands around.

Lowes has the Blue Hawk:

I believe this Blue Hawk brand is Lowes' own homebrand, which will be discontinued once they start stocking SharkBite later on this year.

Considering that these fittings have critical functions and are usually installed behind the walls or hard to reach places, I imagine that most people wouldn't want to scrimp on these kind of purchases. If they are unlucky, a few dollars saved now can lead to hundreds or even thousands of dollars of damage later on when the homebrand fittings that they installed failed on them.

In a way, this is similar to Dulux's premium products which always sell for more than its competitors'. Most people only repaint their house once every 15-20 years. When they do, they don't mind spending a little bit more and get the premium products. This gives them peace of mind, knowing that the paint will last longer.
