    Health insurance is a negative sum loss. You end up paying for the service, plus all the admin fees. I can't really consider it as insurance anyway - far too many people regard it as a challenge to recoup more than their premiums in claims. You're even expected to claim! So much optical, dental, chiro etc. as part of your premium.

    As you get older, your risk rises so your premiums increase. No surprise there.

    More and more procedures become available, so premiums rise to cover more services. Quite normal too.
