Wind and solar both require a LOT of energy input - wind for the plastic/ceramic blades and stalk, solar in particular for the batteries and inverters :(
Can't see that thermal will be a heck of a lot better - it will need storage facilities/batteries etc too.
Maybe you have access to some figures to give me some hope?
