It is believed that the "tipping" point will be when batteries cost US$100pkw. The consensus is that this will be reached between 2020 - 2025. EVs will also achieve 1% of global vehicle sales in this period, which when measured against acceptance of technology going back to the early 1900s means take off.
I certainly would not be buying oil shares going into the future.
