As the register is held on a computer it is reasonable to request an electronic copy of the register or part of the register. It is a legal requirement that the register be available for inspection by shareholders and the provisions of the Corporations Act 2000 clearly indicate the register can be accessed on computer if the company agree. Emailing a copy would save them the havi v to provide access to a computer. A request for the top 20 is not an unreasonable request under the legislation and as such should be provided.
I have requested some other publicly accessible documents by email from the company on two separate occasions in recent weeks and both requests have been ignored. It appears that it is not just the top 20 that is not accessible at the moment.
