There has never been a Prime Minister who's worked harder than the one we've got - hard at it 24/7 - always on call - and for a lousy $250,000 pa.
In the old days of Menzies, Chifley, etc. a Prime contend Minister had the Australian domestic scene only to handle - with maybe a few radio broadcasts on international affairs, and an occasional overseas trip. Now, a Prime Minister has to not only run the whole country, being across all the constantly changining daily events, he/she has to be a top class statesman, completely abreast, as much as humanly possible, of all possible world scenarios. One of the reasons he has to be close to the American President, on would think, whichever party the US President comes from.
Imagine how tiring this constant travelling and work load must be - even for a much younger man.
AT least people in Western societies get off their backsides and innovate and invent and create and work damn hard to generate an economy which chugs along well and takes care of it's citizens.
WE don't all just sit on our backsides, producing nothing, contributing nothing to the world good, plotting trouble for the rest of the world, and complaining about having no money. And using that an excuse to blow innocent people to smithereens.
