It is a strange regulation and I cannot quite fathom why it is there. I don't believe companies reveal price sensitive information to the analysts at briefings. The penalties for doing so are just very harsh as they should be. In all my years on Change a company director only once gave me inside info on condition I neither used it nor repeated it. The info was correct but the pit wall collapsed in the meantime and nearly broke the company!
