Agree so far as the "great song" comment. Maybe you don't realise exactly who "Mike and the Mechanics" were (??) and that makes you wonder where they went, when they were right in front of you all the time.

"Mike" was Mike Rutherford, guitarist with super group Genesis (with Phil Collins, Peter **riel and Tony Banks and others) and the Mechanics was basically a part time diversion for Rutherford while not touring and writing/performing with Genesis. He put out a few hits while with M&tM as people mentioned.... "The Living Years", "All I Need is a Miracle" and also a few others like "Silent Running on Dangerous Ground" and "Word of Mouth".

The other main man in M&tM was Paul Carrack who was a singer/songwriter with many hits to his name along the way and worked with people like Roger Waters (Pink Floyd) Glenn Frey (Eagles) and Brian Ferry (Roxy Music).

So contrary to your thought that they "slipped into obscurity" the opposite is true. In Mike's case he slipped from relative obscurity (with M&tM) back into the super group Genesis and their massive touring schedule.

Sorry for being off topic.... I think XPE will continue to have problems gaining SP traction, however there WILL come a time that the income starts flowing demonstrably and after that point in time this thing will become a juggernaut.

For now it just takes patience.
