for your standard definition of a descending triangle please refer here. http://stockcharts.com/school/doku.php?id=chart_school:chart_analysis:chart_patterns:descending_triangle
i encourage people to read this and apply what they see here to NMS and draw their own conclusions.

i dont mean to be rude, but firstly all descending triangles are bearish. secondly, you dont need a steep decline before the pattern. note that descending triangles can be reversal signals, i.e. it has the incline (as you noted), which may reverse (head south).

it could well be a pennant, as you said. however in TA its best to run with what is more correct. to me a descending triangle looks more prevalant - but use your own minds and dont take my word for it. i would say that your reference to a flag looks more like what happened to NMS from the beginning of december to the beginning of janruary (its clear on a 1 year chart). this is because flags and pennants dont take that long to form. using the same website, please note:

"Flags and pennants are short-term patterns that can last from 1 to 12 weeks. There is some debate on the timeframe and some consider 8 weeks to be pushing the limits for a reliable pattern."

NMS is already 10 weeks due.

also using the same link, note that NMS fullfills 1-5 of the seven essential criteria for a descending triangle. numbers 6 and 7 occur after its actually happened.

again i could be wrong, and NMS is a great company with huge growth potential. its just someone asked for technicals and i gave my view on it. good luck all holders cheers
