I know CSIRO set up a couple of pilot demos, one in the Hunter and one in VIC (mentioned in your link)
Know a bloke that worked on it. Pretty tricky and nasty liquids involved to do the capture.
I don't think they shelved them but they have been on the backburner for a couple of years due to funding.
Focus had shifted to solar storage.
That might change now.
It was pure research, trying to work out the best way to do it and no methodology was settled on.
Maybe there has been other advances around the world since then they can leverage off.
My feel is that this is a long way off yet, and has yet to be proven cost effective.
