Fraudulent is to strong a word. When I first read the interim phase 2 hsv 2 results I like others read it and then put it to the side not quite sure what to make of it but something kept bringing me back to it. It was purely visceral. As if I'd missed something but what? What was it that kept bringing me back. What was giving me this sense of unease. What was the subtext of the announcement that I had over looked. I had to look harder at what was being said. What was I missing? What was written between the lines?

I rolled up my trousers and walked along the beach. I sipped wine in the botanic gardens and wrote poetry. I read books by Chaucer and Hemingway but still nothing. Then while drawing pictures of golden canola with my pastels it occurred to me, it hit me like a bolt of lightning.

The fact that I did not know what to make of it was it's intended purpose. It wasn't what was being said but rather what wasn't being said. It was neither good nor bad. Neither better nor worse. Neither conclusive nor inconclusive. It was obviously a timing issue and that it simply wasn't our time.
