OK, snakepitt, I accept that you might try IQBuds special background noise-selecting features and find you don't want to pay for this option.
But we don't know that until you do try that feature...
And we don't know how representative you are of the people out there. You could be an outlier, or you could represent the majority?
This is what we have to wait to get confirmed: will buyers be long-term, devoted users?
I know when I tried on my boyfriend's glasses and saw the world clearly for the first time in probably a few years, I didn't want to go back to a blurry world.
Maybe I am more disturbed by unwanted noise than the average person.
But I have an irritating neighbour who, every Friday, insists on using her outdoor vacuum cleaner to suck up leaves, one by one, for about 2 hours. I have to move to a different room to cope!
Another neighbour goes away on holidays often, leaving two large dogs who bark non-stop all day, presumably saying "Please come home! We're going to keep barking until you do!".
I play competition tennis and I get distracted by any extraneous noise. Last week, some nearby man decided to mow his lawn and do his edges and then use his blower. It took him an hour and it drove me nuts. Another time a helicopter decided to hover over the courts for half an hour; just before that, a noisy coach was on the next court: I heard every single word he said!
At airports, I hate the constant announcements, especially the ones about not leaving your baggage unattended! On the plane, I can't hear the movie over the engine noise. And then there's the babies crying...
I could go on and on. Now imagine a world where we get to choose what get to listen to!
I ask you: "why would I go back to having to listen to neurotic neighbour and their dogs and the lawn mower men and hovering helicopters and boring, annoying coaches and engine noise and beyond-irritating, repetitive announcements, etc? if these iQBuds are as comfortable as people say and ata simple click of a bud, the unwanted noise goes away?"
Maybe I have gotten my hopes up too high...hope not. We'll see.
