Labor plan to use Future Fund for research
Interest generated from WA's $1 billion Future Fund will be used to pay for a new medical research fund that Labor leader Mark McGowan says will help commercialise the ideas of the state's best minds.
If elected next month, Labor will establish the Future Health Research and Innovation Fund.
"We have some of the best minds in Western Australia and I want to liberate those minds to ensure that we are cutting edge when it comes to medical research because that creates job opportunities for our citizens," Mr McGowan told reporters.
