If buttermere want to have even a slight chance of getting anywhere they will have to offer atleast 40% higher than what the current SP is, they would have to offer atleast $5.20 to maybe get some takers. I wouldnt be one of those takers as i believe MTN is worth alot more.
Paladin offered a 30% premium for Summitt and had eggs pelted at them for an oppotunistic offer, that offer was worth $1 billion,
So even if buttermere did infact lift the ofer 40% to $5.20 per share, the offer would still only be about $280 million total, when you stand this number beside PDN's offer it looks like a crime for that amount to offer.
My thoughts are that buttermere are going to offer atleast $10.50 per share for anyone to take them seriously, that would equate to about $600 million for shareholders, even then MTN management will more than likely reject it.
All in all, we are in for a very interesting several months ahead, with all that is developing, the infill drilling programme has been completed and a new total is coming.
I just topped up my MTN holdings after the offer was rejected :::)))) Good things to come soon.
