YES we can: eg the founding asset/mine of one of the greatest now gold company in OZ - Northern Star - NST, have started from one "depleted" Paulsens mine discarded by others and grew to $2.5 bln company picking up assets others give up and making money, paying dividends, growing resources...
Paulsens mine never have and still does not have much reserves, as it is expensive business drilling and "proving" but it is still working and producing:
