This is different tech. What they are doing in a very simplistic way is instead of saying that the pixels go

B - B - B - B - B - B - DG - B - B - B - B

where B is Black and DG is Dark Grey they are looking at 2 things, firstly saying 6B - DG - 4B thus reducing the amount of traffic and also looking at the frames ahead and before to work out if that DG pixel actually matters or if they could simply go 11B.

Firstly this is nothing like how it actually works but conceptually similar version of it. Secondly Wangle could still optimise this data because it touches different parts. Netflix is changing what is being delivered Wangle changes how it is delivered. Currently 4K movies require about a 16 megabit connection, Netflix optimisation might make it 12 megabits (speculation), Wangle could reduce it further to 8 megabits (speculation, again). That's the sort of thing we are talking about here.
