4 years 8 months to be exact and QBE in the last 8-9 years has gone through more pain than most companies do ever. O'Halloran feasted on around 100 acquisitions in his 14 years in the top job, most of which became seriously heavy baggage post-GFC and to top it off the company had to deal with record-low bond yields so it's been an extraordinarily trying time for this company with multiple earnings downgrades. John Neal literally inherited quite the mess but finally profitability has increased, long-term bond yields are rising and the QBE have exited some non-performing assets so it's fair to say that it's likely that the worst is over for QBE and a turnaround is underway. It most definitely will not happen overnight, will take years likely, who knows. Maybe Allianz is running the ruler over the company, I'll take $18.
