It's very simple. Something created in a lab can be produced for an infinite number of years. Why would you switch up your whole supply chain to instead accommodate a natural resource that may only produce enough supply for 'x' number of years? At a marginal (if any) cost saving? It has already been stated on this forum that MNS is asking far more for its product than the current highest priced product that is actually selling.

And that natural resource consists of several levels of quality. If only the top tier stuff will outperform synthetic, then that's an even smaller supply sample you have to work with.
