Tim, I have no problem with your support group. I can certainly see why Dave likes it. But horses for courses etc - it is not for me. It is not just its UK-centricity that diminishes its relevance to me, it is also its aura of being a supporter club rather than an investor forum. But most importantly, it doesn't fit with what I do and how I do it. I don't look after anyone's interest other than my own, and take no responsibility for it. While I may comment more on 88e, I have a broad portfolio that occupies my time. I communicate with various directors in these companies and share what I think is appropriate to share. I have no obligation to do otherwise, and I seek no such responsibility. The fora that already exist and do a perfectly fine job IMHO, suffice for my needs. And every investor would be advised to DYOR when reading comments from faceless avatars online, especially mine.
The only "problem" I have is when your support group comes between me and my investment. I don't see how you believe you can take questions I am sharing with fellow investors and seek to disintermediate me from the directors of one of my investments. I don't like to be told by the MD that I should communicate through you. My fears, previously articulated to you, are being borne out. The support group is becoming a gatekeeper. Well, not for me thanks.
Your wiki thing is a great initiative, just as long as it is a repository of worthwhile content first shared on HC/LSE - not as a replacement.
My request stands. I do not require your assistance in asking my questions to the directors, but I thank you for your unsolicited offer.
If you believe the questions are worth co-opting into your list then they haven't been asked yet, so you can rest assured Daves time will not be wasted. And finally, your indication that you determine Q6 as something that Dave cannot usefully answer, and therefore to be dropped from your collation, is the best illustration of a gatekeeper at work.
I will not bore anyone with further commentary on this topic.
All IMO. DYOR and GLTA.
