Clealy tls can't run a retail shop ,so how r they going to run ehealth?.
When i read telstra news its depressing,it makes me feel tls management r out of their depth, when i read wesfarmers news i feel better, until i read another tls article.
Imo the tls ceo doesn't need to b a tech head or know how to write code etc etc.A tls ceo needs to understand whats required for a business to make a 'profit',what apps r user friendly and makes business sense, what new developing businesses just make sense (wont list some)..eg wesfarmers is turning target around in preference to selling it,telstra just says sensis to hard lets sell it when imo there r basic common sense technologies to grow the business.
Trujillo bought autohome and soufun,no real connection to tls but he could c the future profits.Goyder probably doesn't understand the technical workings of wesfarmers various businesses, but when ever i read management decisions they simply make sense, profitable sense ie speciality infrastructure developed and built to re fuel ships with lng within their energy co,a growing industry with more lng fueled ships under contruction ,etc bunnings uk ,kmart, bunnings etc.
Tls management imo doesn't understand how to develop or buy into a profitable business model sector.
When a poster suggested penn could b replaced my first thought was i hope its with someone that simply understands the importance of profitable business sectors.
imo tls is being run like an out of control technology co with deep pockets and no understanding of how to develop or expand into sectors that have growing profits, and its sad because they have such a dominance in so many sectors plenty of finance but no basic business profit skills.
Although goyder is probably not a tech head, imo he is the type of ceo tls needs, someone that understands how businesses need to b run,of course he would surround himself with the tech experts if required but only to get the ideas or basic understanding not run the businesses.
ps i glad the dh govt has taken back nbn as per agreement conditions,it simplifies the tls business model now all we need is a ceo that understands profitable unregulated businesses with or without the support of tls's valuable connectivity network.
