Despite the fact that Trump did not win the popular vote I am not denying the US the freedom to choose who they wish as their president. Likewise I should be free to speak my mind. The parallels I see between now and the 30s are to my mind uncanny. I should be allowed to articulate my concerns and this should be part of the debate which is in turn part of the democratic process. There are plenty of Trump supporters around spewing out their cliches time and again about Muslims and the virtues of right wing authoritarianism. I, on the other hand, only see folly. I would hope by articulating my point of view that I may give cause to others to think for themselves and not to get caught up in the irrational fear and hateful buzz phrases of the right wing movement.
