The people on this thread and those not here that think this Government (Howard Gov) and the US Gov have done nothing wrong should be ashamed of themselves. They have broken the Geneva Convention and should be prosecuted for war crimes in Iraq and Afghanistan for starters.
Then they can also have their day in court for holding an (alledged terrorist) for more than 5 years with no charge, as well as torture techniques and mental abuse of a human being again with no charge.
He "Hicks" was part of the Taliban (yes) but before 9/11 the Taliban was a legal Army and was in fact the army of the day in those areas, and as much as u may not like the taliban, they are still and have every right to be an army, as the US or Aus army do, mind u the US army have also killed innocent people Iraq,Afghanistan,Vietnam and I could go on.

If he was guilty why only 5 years punishment?? Why is there a media order against him?? He may not be able to talk about his so called crimes that he had no choice but to plead guilty to, but why cant he talk about the mistreatment he received while being held in G Bay?? And if he wants to make money from that side of it then I see no problem with that whatsoever.
We know hes a terrorist but we will let him out in 9 months from now?? That makes sense doesn't it for a suspected terrorist................ haha

Did we not remember the photos of US soldiers and what they were doing to prisoners in G Bay not so long ago or do we all have selected memories??
I hope he speaks to the media the second he gets out, it will be worth another 7 years in jail just to see the world get the truth.
