@peter.farmer I use commsec iress to watch market but execute my buy/sell trades from the app on my phone.
This I find quicker. I put the stops in from iress as the app doesn't let you place conditional orders.
I am in the process of opening an account with Interactive brokers because their brokerage is much cheaper.
Their platform is quite good also.
You do need to get a few documents JP'ed so it is a process but worthwhile I think.
I use Amibroker for charts and scanning and am currently using Yahoo intraday data delayed 20 minutes.
With interactive brokers you can get a plugin for Amibroker for streaming data. You can also integrate ordering directly into it. Amibroker is free to use but it won't save anything unless you have the full version.
I was getting around this by never turning off my PC but I bought the full version for the full access to the programming library of scans.
