The reply to the trading/speculating part of your query..........similar analogy to why do dogs lick their balls? .......because they can. It is merely a function of a lot of punters opening up their bank accounts for the benefit of a few smarter punters (the pyramid promoters).
Technical analysis?......well, you either embrace it or dismiss it.....there is no middle ground.
Technical analysis does have its' rewards.
