I think that following the first round of bids, when PetroAtlantic submitted the highest (and possibly only) bid for the 3 fields, Petrobras then asked Karoon to look at upping their offer and that's when Woodside became involved.

Golfinho was subsequently withdrawn from the deal I have no idea why that occurred.
