There have been hundreds and hundreds of research and analyst reports prepared by finance professionals who all they do is value companies as a full time profession. Talk about educated evaluations. When you look at their reports from the past with the valuations they put on spec stocks and compare it to what the current share price is of those speculative stocks, you'll find that over 90% never get it right.

Sorry I'm not really understanding your point here. I agree with you, trying to predict share price movements of a spec stock on an a trading halt such as this is impossible. In fact that was the premise of my initial comment. If you remember I asked how, without any information on the acquisition can you evaluate a share price upon re-opening? So what part here are you arguing with? By the way I do not take notice of research and analyst reports in spec stocks, they rarely put the time and effort in that is required to understand it well enough and it's not their bread and butter anyway.

Spec stocks and educated evaluation in the same sentence lol.

Sorry you disagree and really sorry you think its funny. Many speculative investors will disagree with you. I find it hard to comprehend someone arguing with me that you can no better make a judgement if you have more information about an acquisition. So unless I am understanding you wrong, you are saying that once acquisition details are announced, you are in no better position to make an educated evaluation on the acquisition and its potential worth to the company? If that is truly your belief maybe you are better off going to the casino.

The reality is we're all taking punts on these spec stocks that own a bit of dirt that might one day hit the jackpot with something tangible.

I have specifically stated myself exactly what you have said. I have stated that I am not in RMX to get to production because the chance of this happening is quite low. With most speculative explorers my biggest gains are in the pre production process which is why I don't typically invest in explorers long-term. I'm not looking for jackpots myself. With the right timing you can easily 10-bag an investment without the company ever producing an ounce of resource. RMX has that potential, particularly for those who were accumulating in the low 1c mark.

I think there's been a few mixed messages along the way in this discussion. In essence I think you can make educated evaluation of spec companies as long as you have the information available to do so. Very important for longer-term investors, not important at all really for short-term traders.
