Sneakin in a look after surviving a plane trip from Chengdu to Jiuzhaigou on the north eastern Tibetan Plateau (actually part of SICHUAN Province now). Try flying in clouds no visibilty and then seeing ice-capped peaks same level as yr wings 50 metres either side. As I contemplated the Indiana Jones movie where he ends up on an icy slope, the best was yet to come. Try landing on a SHORT runway at 3500m altitude atop one of those icy mountains with 1000m straight drops either side ... in a snow storm haha. These pilots are good ... must have aircraft carrier landing experience haha. And I thought my crazy Tibetan bus driver trip to Shangri La last year took first prize.

Re U and China ....... there is simply NO WAY OUT other than U for future Chinese energy without permanently disrupting global oil and gas supply. Lotsa gov subsidies on energy to domestics and its costing them. Yet only 2% U heading for 4% bu 2010. They really need to get to 25% and thats gonna be a major driver for POU in years ahead. Construction cranes everywhere and power shortages in many places.

Jiuzhaigou is a fascinating place. World heritage national park. Hiking thru it u feel like u will meet a panda or snow leopard come outa the forest. Very chinese in efficiency on how to move many people in short time if u do the tourist package thing tho. Glad I didnt.
