No I'm sorry in the share market the term 'ramper' was defined as what I stated above. It was originally defined to describe a person who is theoretically acting illegally. In a way yes it is semantics but that's the true definition of it and the reason the term was coined. It has since incorrectly been used by posters like you to describe pretty much anyone who has wildly positive or negative things to say about a company but that is not its true meaning.
Being quite interested in psychology I have done quite a bit of research on this. Here's a link you may want to read up on, specifically focusing on Hotcopper, a published study of manipulative behaviour on the stock market. Ramping is discussed at length and it is always about the manipulation of stock for personal gain.
