the real problem I see in all of this is that there seems to be no way to an ending.


If we take this - whatever we want to call it - lets call it 'radical Islamic terrorism' -- - doesn't matter if it's got anything to do with Islam or not - or anything else -


if we compare it to say the terrorist attacks of the IRA -

The IRA wanted something ---------- so, somewhere, somehow at sometime - negotiation was possible -

because in the end - every conflict must come to the negotiation table - unless one side is completely wiped out.

So - the end was 'when' not 'if'.

Now - like any other movement - young angry men (and, some not so young, usually nutters - like the latest one) --------are attracted because the current movement - any movement will do - to justify killing and maiming - in other words - a justification of giving the anger a target.

However - when the war is over (eg. the Irish Peace process) --------- the mechanism for that anger release vanishes, kaput - gone.

So, the anger waits for the next cause bus to come along.


Now, when we look at the current crop of basically angry people ----------

the problem is - they don't have a cause ----------- at all

ie. there is nothing that can satisfy them - all they want is to kill and maime

they preach a BS line that they kill the infidels ----------- but, the reality is - it has nothing to do with it -

if we all converted to Islam - they would then keep killing - but, the excuse would change to killing the one's who didn't want to go by their warped rules. Or they would make up some other BS cause.

They don't want territory, they don't want money, they don't want anything - except some BS story about killing non believers.

So - and end is not possible in this case. (at least by what we consider, normal means)
