I reread my progress post and realise it is deficient.
I forgot to state that in the last 6 ? months an additional structural steel story has been added to the plant (a 7m X 4 m room actually.) Certainly it has been enclosed within the last 3 months.
I like to physically check my investment.
Those with a sense of history will remember the early days when the pilot plant was just an open steel structure with no roof & thus being completely exposed to the elements.
Then they screened off the western wall using polythene sheeting to protect themselves from the driving rain and wind.
When that deteriorated in the sun they then gave themselves the luxury of replacing the plastic with 2nd hand steel sheeting.( was that professional investors money I hear you cry.......why isn't it going into plant technology)
A year later the north side got a metal skin......... and in the last 3 months horror of horrors they have spent money on a roof. I might add that still now 2 sides are still exposed but it is thought that sufficient coverage for the purpose has occurred.
All in all, the investors money has been frugally expended.
I'll start to worry when they aircondition the place for their winter comfort.
I think the shareholders v the management golf day at Pacific Dunes should be compulsory because it is a celebration of the Ti O2 industry.
As you would all know the golf course is built on an old Ti O2 deposit that was mined out in the 50's by RTZ.
This had two consequential benefits.......construction costs for the golf course halved from $1m per hole to $.5m per hole.........because RTZ had turned all the sand over down to 10 metres deep.........and claims by aboriginal groups of cultural heritage concerns [that delayed the completion of the Sydney to Newcastle freeway by 9 months ] were nullified (basically if there were any artifacts then RTZ had destroyed them 50 years ago )
Now all we need is a fine day without a strong wind blowing from the south for a successful Plant and golf day.
Please be aware that in strong wind conditions the coal dust off the loading terminals nearby means that you can't see the hand in front of your face.
But the APG staff work on regardless.
They are a stoic lot..........there is no end to what they will do when they are vision driven.
