Anyone know why they are not adding more to the lakes?? Or is this just for starters.
The area of Lake Rotorua is about 80 km2. The area of Lake Rotoiti about 35 km2 ... Total = 105 km2, or 105,000,000 m2.
At an application rate of 4000m2/tonne, that would mean that 26,000 tonnes would be necessary for normal levels of phosphorus.
If your price/tonnage estimate is correct (assuming that the quoted $$$ does not include application costs as well, or are minimal), the reported application is only 25% of the expected total requirement!!
Hmmmmm....... is there more to come?
