Trust me, I can see exactly where you are coming from and understand the funny side of my earlier comments.
It has taken me years to wrap my mind around this very topic and as kids it would come up regularly and seriously during our religious discsussions.
However far greater minds than mine, such as Maimonides grappled with exactlty the same problem, and had no trouble coming to the conclusions that he did.
I have often asked how do we reconcile the fact that with carbon dating irrespective of whether the degree of accuracy is out by tens of millions of years, all would agree (from a scientific perspective) that the world is older than the 5763 that I prescribe to.
The mere fact that I acknowledge this point would indicate that I have not taken this matter lightly and have questioned the rationale on numerous ocassions.
I know it runs along the flat earth nonsence in your minds and I cann understand why.
There is a basic difference though.
The flat earth theories can and have been tested.
How does one propose to test whether carbon dating is correct and my theory is positively not?
Yes, I appreciate that to a non believer what I posted would appear as hocus pocus...........but in the absence of a definitive test, why should I not follow by basic instincts in continuing to believe that the world was created rather than "big banged"?
And if I do believe that the world with all of it's intracecies.......the animlas....the weather.....thej planets ...the solar system etc etc were created by a higher being..........it would logically follow (in my mind anyway) that if he could do that, why couldn't he do anything else that he wanted?
It begs the bigger picture of course as to what is/was his reason for having done so and why does he need it to go on.
But that's a very hefty perplexing problem that Kabbalah delves into and I suppose those who have a good grip on the esotreic sciences could delve into it much deeper than I.
I can't suscribe to the big bang theory as if one is honest enough one would have to admit that irrespective of the size, in order to have a big band there would have had to have occured a collision of sorts between at least 2 objects or two different matters.
No one has explained the origin of those two objects. They just say there was a big bang and all I am left in with is a..................... big gap.
So I come back to the creationist version.
And if I am to be consistant and have a belief in the Torah, not understanding the rationale of the Creator is exactly what makes me believe in hin even more. If I could understand his motives I would be there on par with him.
So, I don't understand why he needed us.........yet we are here.
And if I accept that nothing is impossible for him, why should can't I accept that he created the fossils etc etc..........why would that have been a big deal?
Why he did it?????? You may as well ask why he created the world.......I have my theories, well they're not mine but I suscribe to them.
But it all comes back to a question of faith.
Only 4,000 years ago our , well at least my predecessor Abraham tweaked that gods of rocks and wood were nothing more than useless idols who could not have created anything.
Yet he was laughed at....scoffed.
Today.....all of you even if you do not believe in the creationist views, would have to agree with him (Abraham) that those idols were nothing more than rubbish.................
So he rationalized there had to be a higher being..........and further more that higher being required the world to run on a certain order.....hence the 10 Commandments and the Noahide Laws.
Man on his own would not have evolved the laws of justice, murders etc etc..........
Just as the world was created so was the same time the requirements for humans to be distinct from animals..........Animals would stay animals....They could could never and will never evolve to the higher intelligence of a human being.
A computer will never stop to think why it's there or who made it or why.
Neithert will an animal.
But Man will.........and it's because of that I have to accept a Creator and not a big abng of two inanimate objects that were never really there to begin with as no one can expalin the origin of those inanimate objects either.
So, the world cam be 5,763 years old........using my theory.
Using modern science which is at the level (metaphorically) of a computer trying to figure out it's raison d'etre.......so it speculates where the world is billions or hindreds of millions of years old.....and in the process there is no accuracy other than speculation.
If it were a genuine science everyone would arrive at exactlty the same answer.
My way beins to make more sense when I put all the above issues into perspective.
If you're a non believer, obviously the above will get you more ROTLOL.
But first, tell me.......what was the origin of the origianl two moleclues or whatever......that caused this so called big bang..........
