Snooker - You make some interesting points but I'm afraid I don't really agree with you, but I do believe everybody has a right to their own faith, and in the absense of true proof I will never say you are wrong with regards to your beliefs. Now for the real debate.
Carbon dating has been proven to be inaccurate in some circumstances, but the accuracy for several thousand years has been proven using tree ring cross references. Personally I don't believe in the "Big bang theory" as such. I believe that "big bangs" occur constantly, but are so huge and distances are so great that we can't see them. The time it takes for such an occurance is so incredibly long that human beings cannot possibly fathom it. There is obviously an underlying energy that makes this possible, but I call it nature, some call it god. You say that man could not make laws by his own? This seems like utter crap to me. And as for humans being the only animal that has intelligence I assure you that you are gravely mistaken. Humans are not unique at all. There are many animals that are quite obviously self aware, but unfortunately people generally can't see that because of our own arrogance. It has been all but proven that many animals have language but it is often in tones that can't be heard by the human ear. Computers are allowing us to alter the frequencies so we can see and hear them, but although we can't understand them as such there are definate patterns between sounds and behaviour.
