First off, I have to make a correction. There is no oxygen in methane. I have (m)ethanol on the brain LOL.
Pharmaboy - I have to agree and disagree with you. Methane can be produced by other methods, but most commonly it appears to come from living cells. Personally I feel a lot of the current scientific theories are just that. I fought to no avail while I was at school to be able to promote alternate theories in science. As a result some teachers failed me. The speed of light is NOT constant. It is a waveform and like all waveforms it's speed is dependant on the density of the matter it passes through. People may say I'm wrong but give it time and it will be commonly accepted. The idea that time and space are intertwined is based on some stupid ideas IMHO. It's true that if I were able to move away from something faster than the speed of light while still focusing on it it would appear to be moving backwards, but in reality it is just a visual illusion. Does the world not exist to a blind person because they can't see it? Why then because something appears to be moving backwards must it be assumed to be moving backwards. Appearances can be deceiving.
