    darby - It is illegal for one person to receive more than $5000 per year from share distributions from one company in one financial year (corporations LAW - not just an ASX rule), you should know this.

    If you receive two allocations totaling more than 5000 dollars worth ASIC can prosecute you. It is important that if this happens you notify them and return the shares, the penalty is up to $250,000 and certainly will be applied at many multiples times the potential gain.

    If you look at the release WMT state that an individual can only apply ONCE in any capacity - joint or not, so they have the right to throw out both of yours altogether as what you are attempting is technically fraud.

    The only legal way around this is if you had shares in both you and your wives/kids name separately, then you can have up to $5000 each (I can't work out why a joint account cannot have a $10K allocation, which would only seem fair to me)
