The last thing we all want to see is large holdings like your friend's disappear from the register.
Its in everyone's interest to generate as much interest in the company as possible, long term & medium term holders are more valuable, but creating interest & volume by itself also draws attention to the company.
Sadly there are quite a few who had large holdings and have left the Syntonic arena and never returned to date
