What, oh what, oh what is FAR seeing in the seismic being shot up and down the coast?

Suddenly we are gobbling up more real estate than the ancient Romans, across three nations straddling the northwest African shelf edge.

Suddenly we have a partner with bottomless pockets, presumably to ensure we can gobble up even more ... oh, and be able to afford to drill it.

Suddenly every huge oil company in the World has a (metaphorical) branch office in Dakar.

Suddenly SNE is described as being 'enormous'. I'm way too lazy to check back on previous releases, but I don't recall that word being used before.

Suddenly our old mate Aqua's 'giant SNEball' is coming to fruition. Or maybe you know it as the 3S megafield as dubbed by another departed mate, White Noise.

You might recall he postulated that Sirius, SNE and Soleil were in fact one giant field. Well hello!!!

It now seems highly likely the field won't be restricted to that geography, either. Have we, one wonders, stumbled (wrong word) on to a geographic freak of nature that will see an oil-saturated shelf edge stretching across three countries? Remember those 'prolific source rocks'?

This whole story is becoming more astonishing by the day - literally now that FAR is chucking out press releases by the truckload.

As a paid-up member of the Pom Pom Brigade, I have never doubted that FAR made a huge discovery and that in time the oil world would come to realise just how big it might be. Check my posts over the past two years if you like. But even I am being pleasantly shocked at what is unfolding before our eyes.

Commercial oil in the carbonates would be manna from Heaven, as it would give credence to the views of some oil geologists who suggest those rocks might harbor many, many billions of barrels. But honestly, I don't think it will be a disaster if we drill a duster there this time around. Yes, the shorters might make a bit more hay, but hey, their days are over (and they seem to know it, damn it!).

Cath today used the word 'enormous' to describe SNE. If I can read code, expect a very large revision in reserve numbers when SNE6 completes its work in six weeks time.

    OOO
