Agree ktrianta, if UK started buying gold again we would know the current system has officially jumped the shark... While the US, Aust, Canada and others could theoretically add to their gold reserves through domestic mine output if necessary, old blighty is rather challenged... UK might want to quietly add some gold now while the price is low, but moving to do so would blow things up. Dilemma!
