What can Russia do about anything the US want's to do? Not much really, Russia has a lot of Nuclear warheads in cracked up submarines, that can't go down 20m, large trucks launchers, a few slow rusty un seaworthy ships; Ok, i'm joking a little on Russia, but I don't think Russia can afford to challenge US at all. Specially with this new unknown quantity man they've got at the helm.
Basically Putin has to shut up and watch from the sideline, while their oil price getting them out of a tight spot 80% of Russian revenue comes from O&G, not much leverage there when oil price is under $50pb
Looks like US is now helping the Russian with a better Oil price; that's why the Russians are working hard in the middle east, to make the oil supply very tight there, if not collapse it altogether.
Of course there's a lot more to it than that, for now I think I've said enough; Russia may have a lot of nukes but they don't have enough $$$ and big kahunas,they have good Vodka's but not good on Kahunas
