No my wife nor her family have experienced a bad situation but they have all worked in big various Gov departments and I guess they have witnessed others getting the short end of the stick. As you know a lot of events are suppressed / hidden. Sure most Chinese folk have a better quality of life today. But, as this story began, there is still a huge amount of distrust. Her apartment is showing a good profit after 10 yrs, from new, but she bought as a Gov official ( discounted ) and now can sell on the open market. I'm sure you understand this principal...and yes the market also has increased in this time.
