Dr Giles said the dividend issue would be considered when the 31 January 2017 Interim Financial Report was prepared. That report is due this week.
From my post after the AGM:
"10. Dividend policy going forward (franking credits a must, before paying to shareholders. Must be sustainable)
Covered during the AGM address by the Chairman, and in some detail, as the 'D' word has been raised by a lot of shareholders recently.
After the meeting, the consensus is that it has to be sustainable and almost everyone would prefer that it is a franked dividend.
But as Dr Giles pointed out, HAV has existing income tax losses that will shelter revenue into the first half of the next calendar year so HAV will not be paying any income tax (to obtain the franking credits) till then."
Unlikely therefore to see a dividend until sometime in the 2nd half of this year.
I am in the camp that would like a dividend.
