spot on my son and girlfriend just bought a house, they have friends that borrowed 400k for a house and land package and they ( son and girlfriend) just bought a nice little 3 bedroom for 247k in a nice area where i live they saved 60k in 2 years for the deposit and have a plan to have it paid off in 6 years.

they were looking at house and land packages i strongly advised them against this and they took my advise and are on their way as for his friends the drums are beating with how much the repayments are, a sh1t quality house and land package oh well.

just for the record i have taught my kids dont borrow for cars, and material sh1t if you cant afford it walk ride , watch my tv , they own all their own stuff and are set up but i feel a lot of their mates are getting around in hi lux utes , getting on the pi$$ etc and dont get me wrong my kids all go out and get on it but i have taught them the good old it not what you want its what you need
