    Shares in small Australian company Multiemedia more than doubled their value on 5 August 2003. Massive trading volumes drove the company's price up by 122%, to $A0.091 from the previous day's $A0.041. At close on 5 August, the company's stock had levelled slightly to finish at $A0.058. Almost two thirds of Multiemedia's shares changed hands in the two-day period. The increase followed Multiemedia's announcement that it has secured a $A15m deal for the deployment of satellite technology throughout Australia and the Pacific Rim for British company Transcom.
