Well everyone's entitled to their opinion but in my humble opinion the first incarnation of NBN seemed to attract some of the best and brightest.

I wouldn't often defend Rudd but this is Malcolm's version of the NBN, not Rudd's.

The decision to go Multi Technology Mix both compromised speed (in some quarters) and burdened NBN with much of the dogs' breakfast of network issues that Telstra has had to grapple with.

Some of those old copper connections mentioned elsewhere in these threads and other bits and pieces will be needed for the Node to the Home. How much will be spent on the IT systems and maintenance of this stuff over time? "Do it once, do it properly".

Spending all this money and NOT addressing the biggest problem? Very much a case of knowing the price of everything and the value of nothing I'm afraid.

And for those who might say the current incarnation is more cost effective than the original, that is something for which I will have to respectfully, but strongly disagree.
