"Pearls before swine" and "casting pearls" refer to a quotation from Matthew 7:6 in Jesus's Sermon on the Mount: "Do not give what is holy to the dogs; nor cast your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn and tear you in pieces."
It's a famous, in some circles at least, way of saying don't let your words fall on deaf ears. I am neither a supporter nor an opponent of coal, but support what I believe is good and true. Coal is neither good nor bad, the way we use it could be either. But the claim of it being on the beach is pretty clearly untrue, at best improbable, given the evidence.
I can suggest you visit beaches where black coal naturally occurs on beaches, such as South Gippsland, at Harmers Haven. Great surfing and fishing nevertheless.
Be sure to go by bicycle.
