sorry, but must correct you ...

"brokers are only allowed to lend stock on the above approved list" .. is not correct.

Two people told me yesterday WMT is available to borrow/sell .. so I tried it for myself. No problems at all.

Stock borrowing is NOT short selling (even though one can borrow stock and (short) sell, to in effect hedge for example) so stocks are not limited to those on teh approved ASX ShortSell listing

Agree with your comments on profit taking. Its held up well so far, but realistically I'm prepared to see low over the 30s short-term.
