Hi Sekret. Yep that is essentially it but whoever you spoke to is incorrect to assume trees will be cut down. If that is the case they cannot be claimed for carbon credits. In my case where I am growing sandalwood 100% for nut production the tree infrastructure remains in place and hence are eligible for carbon credits. In other words they are more valuable producing nuts (oilseeds) than being harvested for the oil in their heartwood.
I should clarify with this stock I am not bagging it. What they are attemtpting to do is great and very innovative. But they need to diversify to other crops and reduce the risk of focussing on just one tree crop.
