Other countries are not as accomodating of foreign companies be they state owned or private/ publicly listed reaping oligopolistic profits such as SingTel in Optus, Vodafone, Chinese Light and Power in EnergyAustralia, BP , Royal Dutch Shell, Deutsche Bank in Melbourne Airport and Kirin Breweries (most of Australia's alcoholic beverages now owned by Kirin/ Lion). The free market must exist in the theory books in Australia, in practice, globally, reality is a little different and protectionism is alive and well especially in telcos, utilities and energy and essential industries.
About time, ACCC and the Federal Gov't supported Australian companies IMHO like TLS.
